Summer in the Square - Mayfair 2014 Programme
1. A programme of free
cultural performances,
games and entertainment
in Grosvenor Square
3 July – 20 July 2014
Grosvenor Square
2. About Grosvenor
Grosvenor has grown to become one of the UK’s largest private
property companies. In addition to its head office in Mayfair,
Grosvenor has offices in 17 of the world’s most dynamic cities,
managing a growing portfolio of international property assets.
Grosvenor continues to actively manage its London estate in
Mayfair and Belgravia for the benefit of the whole community,
with the long term aim of making it one of the finest places in
which to live, work and visit.
Grosvenor in the Community
Bringing Summer in the Square back for its third year will once
again provide an oasis of calm for the local community to
relax and enjoy activities in the heart of Mayfair. This three
week event provides something for all age groups, including
a stage for music and theatre, refreshments and an oversized
games area including croquet, chess and boule and is reflective
of Grosvenor’s on-going commitment to providing for the
community.
We have a diverse range of initiatives and projects to
experience and get involved with. Foodbank provides food
for those residents on the London estate suffering from short
term financial hardship. On an ecological level, Creating a Buzz
crafts pocket gardens on streets across Mayfair and Belgravia
as well as green roof ecosystems on rooftops that house a
cluster of beehives.
Community Arts is our local initiative that brings inclusive
and interesting public art and artists into the area to enhance
connectivity. Fitness in the Gardens supports fitness within the
community thanks to weekly free pilates in Mayfair and yoga
in Belgravia. Voluntary online donations go towards building an
outdoor gym in Belgrave Square for the summer.
Lastly, the unique Grosvenor Film Festival is where residents
can enjoy silent screenings in some of London’s best garden
squares. For this special al fresco summer experience and all
our other projects you can find out more information on how t
o get involved by visiting www.grosvenorlondon.com.
Grosvenor extends a very warm welcome to all residents and visitors to Mayfair
and invites you to join us at Summer in the Square. We will transform London's
second largest garden square, Grosvenor Square, into an urban retreat and a
relaxing haven offering a programme of free games, music, theatre, art and
other entertainment.
