School District No. 46 (Sunshine Coast)GOVERNANCE POLICY 2.8 SCHOOL CLOSURES The Board of School Trustees of School District No. 46 (Sunshine Coast) believes in the educational value of neighbourhood schools. The Board needs to give continuing attention to: 2.8.1 Educational program effectiveness. 2.8.2 Factors involving student safety and building modernization needs. 2.8.3 Financial limitations of the school district. 2.8.4 Operational deficiencies. 2.8.5 Demographic changes within School District No. 46. 2.8.6 The integrity of each student’s educational program. When school closure or consolidation is contemplated, the Board shall ensure that adequate advance notice and opportunities for community consultation are provided.
