Child Labor World Wide 50 Million children are forced to work illegally in brick kilns, building sites, sorting matches, factories of every kind, garages, hotels and shops. Families need the children to work for money to have the necessities of life. Their children know that their family needs the money so they work when their parents tell them to work. Some children that work are in toxic fumes that could cause muscular degeneration and blur eyesight. Many die young because of the poor conditions they are in.
Rights and responsibilities of Businesses  Businesses should follow laws signed by their  country. Businesses have to design a Code of Conduct which they post on their website or they will some how get the information to the public. If they don’t know one knows until inspectors go and inspect the factory otherwise the businesses will admit it eventually.
Rights and Responsibilities of Consumers  Consumers don’t have to check the code of conduct every time the go to the store but theybecome  aware if the store is using child labor a lot!
Convention of the Rights of the Child Article 1 and 2 Article 12 and 24 Article 12 : (respect for the views of the  children) Every child has the right to  say what they think in all  matters affecting them, and  to have their views taken  seriously Article 24 : (health and health services) Every child has the right to the best possible health.  Governments must provide good quality health care, clean water, nutritious food and a  clean environment so that children  can stay healthy.  Richer countries must help poorer countries achieve this. Article 1:  (definition of the child) Everyone under the age of 18 has  all the rights in the Convention. Article 2 : (without discrimination) The Convention applies to every  child whatever their ethnicity,  gender, religion, abilities,  whatever they think or say, no  matter what type of family they  come from.
Convention of the Rights of the Child Article 26 and 27 Article 28 and 31 Article 26 : (social security) Governments must provide extra money for the children of families in need.  Article 27 : (adequate standard of living) Every child has the right to a  standard of living that is good  enough to meet their physical,  social and mental needs.   Government must help families  who cannot afford to provide this.  Article 28 : (right of education) Every child has the right to an education.  Primary education must be available to every child. Discipline in schools must respect children’s human dignity.  Wealthy countries must help  poorer countries achieve this. Article 31 : (leisure, play and culture) Every child has the right to relax, play and join in a wide range of Cultural and artistic activities.
Convention of the Rights of the Child Article 32 and 42 Article 32 : (child labor) Governments must protect  children from work that is  dangerous or might harm their  health or education. Article 42 : (knowledge of rights) Governments must make the convention known to children  and adults.
