Mijas Wine Museum (Museo del Vino) is situated in C/San
Sebastian, the most photographed road in the picturesque
white-washed, mountain village of Mijas Pueblo. Originally a
townhouse built in 1839, It is known to the locals as ‘T he
house of light’ because it was the f irst transf ormer f or the
supply of electricity in the town.
Since it opened as a museum in 2004, many a wine
connoisseur and would be connoisseurs alike, have
experienced the taste of days gone by in an authentic wine
cellar.
Mijas wine museum gives wine lovers the chance to taste
dif f erent wines f rom all regions of Spain. Wines
including Cavas, table wines, reds, whites,
rose’s and the more noble of wines are there to
be sampled alongside gourmet f oods chosen to
enhance the wine tasting experience.
Visitors to the museum also learn about wines
f rom the prof essional oenologists, who explain
all there is to know about the wines as you are
tasting them.
T he museum isn’t just about wine tasting

simply watch lif e pass you by as you enjoy some good f ood and f ine wines.
From the outside the building looks more like a
bodega than a museum but inside the attention
to detail, design and the layout is simply
stunning, enhancing the amazing ambience.

museum makes this a high class, must visit
