Leadership
Identify the characteristics of an effective leader and
compare them to my innate characteristics to
determine areas in which I need to develop and or
improve upon.
Read books such as John C. Maxwell’s, “Developing
the Leader Within You”.
Utilizing the Library online research tools to research
business case studies discussing the pitfalls and
resolutions to pitfalls affecting the bottom line revenue.
Try to establish a rapport with an industry executive to
interview for brief pertinent industry information i.e.,
Antonio “L A” Reid, CEO of Epic Records. (Contact
info. Not discovered at this juncture)
7. Summary Goal for Project &
Team Management
Learn how to create a project management plan for
promoting and artist to gain momentum with fans and
match roles and responsibilities to skill sets when
assembling a team.
Acquire an internship/apprenticeship with Epic Records
to learn how a team is supposed to communicate and
operate.
I have joined the organization, “The CEO Society” and
plan to become very active in this organization to
explore and collaborate on current initiatives and new
ideas for team building and team management.
Continue to read books on self help i.e., Andre Taylor’s
“You Can Still Win” to aid in the inspiration in
overcoming obstacles when working on a project.

Storytelling & Brand
Development
Learn the art and importance of business
storytelling and how it affects my brand in the
music business.
Develop a strong mission statement that
encompasses a targeted market and direction to
accomplish the goals set forth in the statement.
Establish a rapport with the marketing director
with Epic Records to gain an insight on how to
maintain relevancy as brand in the music industry
a whole.

Finance
Learn how to raise capital for my management
company to properly fund projects undertaken.
Also learn how to maintain a budget for said
projects without going over budget or being
under funded.

revenue profiles to ascertain a general idea of
budgeting for specific areas of promoting a artist
music.
Also pay close attention to expenditures during
my internship/apprenticeship program
Use research information from Full Sail Library
online resources to comb through articles written
about different music projects.

& Deal Making
Learn how to prepare for a negotiation in order to
structure the best deals available for my
clientele.
Continue to read self help books i.e., Michael
Wheeler’s “The Art of Negotiation” How to
Improvise Agreement in Chaotic World.
Talk to people who have already been to the
negotiating table and explore how they
succeeded or failed in the negotiating process.
Bounce scenarios off of my colleagues in The
CEO Society to get different approaches to
negotiations.
15. Summary Goal for Product &
Artist Management
Learn how to resolve possible issues
surrounding the creation of artist product and the
management of both to maintain a balance
between the two.
Read articles from the research library focusing
on specific issues involving artist and product
management.
Seek advice from mentor in the industry who
faces these issues on daily basis.
Apply some of the techniques learned to a music
project I have in motion currently and keep
copious notes to what works and what does not
work.
17. Summary Goal for Advanced
Entertainment Law
Learn the importance of knowing the
entertainment laws governing music and how to
properly apply them to the contracts bilaterally
with my clientele.
Explore past legal mishaps in the music industry
by using the Lexus Nexus Legal section. In depth
exploration will help in avoiding these same
pitfalls.
Talk with industry professionals about their
contracts to see if they feel it was successful or
not.
Apply this information to the contracts of my
clientele to create a more solid agreement.

Entertainment Media
Publishing & Distribution
Learn how to explore strategies for protecting
and monetizing my clientele’s music through
traditional as well as new distribution models to
develop a publishing and distribution plan for
their music projects.
I have joined the Music Publishing Society to take
full advantage of knowledge of my colleagues.

changing digital platform. Keeping with the new
technology will be key in digital marketing.
Keep up with the social media outlets to cross-
market platforms.
Learn different strategies used during
internship/apprenticeship promoting from a digital
perspective.

Incorporate all the knowledge and skills learned
in the class in the formation of a comprehensive
music promotion & branding business plan.
Utilize the knowledge and experience of my
colleagues to critique my plan from a structural
and functional standpoint.

Present the Business Plan to faculty and peers.
Culmination of all the work put into the
development of a comprehensive business plan
for the creation, promotion, and distribution of
music to the world gathered over the past 12
months.

Articulate in expressing ideas, not afraid of non-conventional methods or
ideas to be successful, open minded to ideas from new personnel, a trend
setter, past track record of success, a prudent business person without
inconsiderate behavior.
