Eight Easy Tips To Beautify And Simplify Your Gardening
For a beginner, planting and maintaining a garden can be very difficult. This is when having some
economical tips can really help you out. Take some time to learn about different ways you can
simplify things in the garden.

Instead of using chemicals on plants, organic gardeners prefer to use organic soap products to keep
insects away and to generally keep their plants healthy. Depending on how you apply the product,
you may find soap slivers all throughout the garden. Just throw a plastic bag over your hand like a
glove, pick up the slivers, and then flip the bag back over again to easily to trap it all.

It is generally not necessary to build or purchase a greenhouse. You're just looking to keep your
plants protected as much as possible. Putting a tomato cage over your grown plants is always ideal,
but when you're not using them for tomatoes, or if you have extras, you can use them as pillars and
position them strategically to hold up a blanket. What you're left with is a great row cover.

As some of your plants begin to grow too tall to handle, you will need a step to stand on in order to
trim and to harvest. A simple concrete block makes for a fantastic stepping stone in the garden. It's
easy to change positions, sturdy, and they give an attractive, rustic look to the garden.

When planting tomatoes you should do so from a plant rather than seed, so they have a head start
prior to being placed in the garden. This will ensure that they're able to grow properly once
transplanted. A simple plastic drinking cup with a few holes poked in the bottom makes the perfect
starter tray for a tomato plant. You can get dozens of these cups for a buck at any grocery store.

The trouble with weeds is that they'll grow anywhere. The wind carries the seed and you will have
weeds in any garden. A great way you can work to block weeds is to actually smother them from
oxygen and deprive them of light by using a tarp. Just make sure that you're not smothering the
plants you want to grow!

You can purchase garden ties that cost more than necessary. You can use rope or twine as an
inexpensive alternative. But if you want a material that's gentle on your plants, able to expand as your
plants grow, and is almost invisible to the naked eye, then you should think about going with
pantyhose for your garden.

Garden fencing helps to keep animals out of your garden. Rabbits, gophers, dogs, cats and other
animals may be deterred by good fencing. More than that, though, having a fence around your
garden simply looks good. But you don't need to pay a fortune for it. Scrap wood can make great
fencing, especially if it's painted. Make sure that you use non-toxic fencing materials.

Trellises are often used as decor rather than function in the average garden. They are sometimes
used for vegetables that need the extra support to grow. However, they can be used for decor
purposes to add extra interest to a garden with flowers or vines that grow on the trellis. You can use
branches to build a trellis that will give your garden a natural rustic look at no extra cost.

These tips give you practical, low-cost ways to keep your garden beautiful and to keep your plants
growing strong. Never neglect to use these tips if you want to create the best garden possible.
