2. What We Do Vision Processing Technology for Traffic Management Aldis delivers the industries only vision tracking technology solution for advanced traffic management. The GridSmart® is product family is a cost-effective platform that manages intersections, reduces traffic congestion, improves safety and minimizes environmental impact for communities across the United States. From 1980 through 2000 vehicle miles driven in the US rose 81% while paved roads grew by 2.5%
3. Company Headquartered in Oak Ridge, Tennessee Formed in 2006 to develop highly efficient, cost-effective advanced traffic management technologies Financially backed by Battelle Ventures , Meritus Ventures and Innovation Valley Partners Platform advanced vision processing technology leveraged from the Research and Development of the National Laboratory in Oak Ridge Technology deployed across the United States, China, Australia, Canada and Brazil USDOT estimates that by 2032 the US will have an additional 58 million vehicles on the road- adding 60 million tons of greenhouse gas released due to congestion

19. Case Study – Urban Traffic Shanghai, China Challenge The customer needs to monitor traffic flow (counts and speed) across a wide area in an budget conscious manner. Some areas such as the one depicted to the right were extremely complicated as it is a cross section of 4 major thoroughfares with a combined 6 exits. Solution GridSmart XPress is able to view and track vehicles across all approaches and provide the traffic control center with vehicle counts and average speeds in user-defined increments (1 minute, 10 minutes, 30 minutes, etc) Results Aldis demonstrates GridSmart XPress360 , a solution saving the customer $50,000 - $60,000 at this location alone. A 100 Xpress Unit solution is now being negotiated.
20. Case Study – Pedestrian Traffic New York, New York Challenge The customer is performing a detailed study involving pedestrian movements. The ability to quickly and easily change the recording location was critical to the project. The customer also needed to capture as much data as possible in a short time to expedite the study. Solution Leveraging the GridSmart software platform, Aldis provided NYC with an easy to administer solution. GridSmart provided a view of all pedestrian movement at the intersection, while interfacing with existing city hardware to record signal status relevant to pedestrian movement. The quick and simple installation process allowed NYC to move the units daily. Results NYC purchased 12 systems that are being used to complete this critical project and then redeployed for other uses. The NYC Police are evaluating the systems in place for security use.
21. Case Study – Large Approach LaCrosse, Wisconsin Challenge The customer has a multi directional approach with a history of inductive loops failing due to the freeze thaw characteristic of the geography. It would be cost prohibitive to add poles and multiple cameras for competing video systems as the cost would approach $100,000. Solution GridSmart Spectra 360 is placed on an existing pole and is able to control the entire intersection with a single unit. Spectra 360 also provides the municipality with traffic counts and speeds allowing them to optimize timing. Results GridSmart controls six approaches, while recording speed and vehicle count with a single camera. Aldis provides Wisconsin DOT with a $10,000 solutions, 3 hour install solution, saving $50,000 for the department at this location alone.

23. Advanced “value add” features such as vehicle counting, classification, speed monitoring, incident management, system reporting, timing management, etc…
24. Installation is fast with less than 3 hours in most cases – as compared to 2 days for other video systems.
25. Electronics provide automatic “out of alignment” compensation vs. a bucket truck to “move” the cameras--No focus, no aiming, no adjustment of cameraAldis reduces gasoline consumption, pollution, and increases energy efficiency
