• An ideal culture media for microbes Microbes!
• Feeds & Protects

Consider:
• Less than 0.5% of the estimated 2 to 5 billion microbial species
have been identified
• Only 1% of the planet‟s microbial species can be readily grown in
the laboratory
How do we  The vast majority - in the soil, water, and residing in other life
increase forms (such as in cows) - cannot be cultured in a lab *
biological • Microbes mediate almost every conceivable biological process on
performance earth
? • Microbes produce enzymes which further enhance biological
By enhancing processes (how nature processes waste)
the • A single gram of soil can contain more than a billion microbes
environment • Soil may contain a million different types of microbes
for Microbes • Microbes comprise ~60% of the earth‟s biomass

 100% Ascophyllum nodosum - proprietary extraction = EKO GEA’s Intellectual Property (IP)
 A. nodosum - well-documented bio-activator/bio-re-mediation agent - made more potent by our extraction
 Known as the most nutritious vegetable on the planet
 In its extracted form (EKO GEA), A. nodosum is a perfect microbial culture media = feeds and protects
 FEEDS microbes
 Oligo-saccharides - polysaccharide favored by bio-active, influential microbial families in digestive
processes
 A vast array of trace elements + micro-nutrients – in organic form, chelated & bio-available

 PROTECTS microbes
 Ion exchange capacity - "neutralizes" negatively charged ions which results in the elimination of H₂S and
NH₃ , plus most metal ions. It has a gel-like property which also protects microbes, physically
 Sequesters heavy metals - absorbing them without releasing them into organisms within the ecosystem
 Provides pre-biotic chemistry which enhances biology
 Absorbs 35 times it's weight in water - lends moisture retention to any process (microbes need water!)
 Eliminates odour via biological ion exchange capacity - a bio-chemical reaction - near-immediate upon
contact (5-20 minutes)
 Effective against pathogenic microbes because indigenous beneficial microbes out-compete pathogens
 Gel-like property which provide physical protection– natural sealant / lubricant

Editor's Notes

1. The bio-active attributes of A. nodosum are well documented
2. * Source: U.S. Dept. of Energy, Joint Genome Institute – per their research findings, published Jan. 2011. EKO GEA Opinion: Throwing microbes into waste – a useless endeavour – they will not be indigenous; they are a minority - subject to predation, inhibition, antagonism.
3. GoranDordic: Microbiologist, inventor, and founder of EKO GEA set out to create a better microbial culture media for processes which need better microbiology to improve performance. He settled on Ascophyllumnodosum as the raw material and then sent out to extract the important compound therein (polysaccharides, organic acids, bio-activators, trace elements, micro-nutrients). Goran’s “EUREKA!” moment came when he fell upon a series of biological methods which not only extracted the impressive array of compounds in A. nodosum, but left these fragile molecules in tact. He then had to STABILIZE this extraction – another accomplishment. Finally, he began testing his extraction in every biological process he could (waste treatment, agriculture, biogas production, fermentation, composting, nutrition, etc.) EKO GEA was born.
4. GoranDordič set out to create the best microbial culture media – testing various raw materials. He wound up with Ascophyllumnodosum because of its well-documented bioactivity, nutrient content. He experimented and “fell upon” the extraction process that is THE secret to EKO GEA’s Intellectual Property (IP).
5. Paves the way for microbial growth & health
6. High-COD/low-BOD effluents are the most difficult liquid wastes to treat because of low biological activity. EKO GEA “injects” biology by clearing the path for microbial growth (ion exchange) then providing nutrients (oligosaccharides) + all the other protective mechanisms. Nutrient/Manure mgt – a closed-loop solution for farmers w/ BOTH liquid cleaning and solid nutrient retention for cropsCompost – 6 weeks cycle – if waste is chopped (anecdote – we compost olive pits in 6 months where it takes the industry 6 years!)Sludge – see following slideSoils – A.nodosum is a known radionuclide solution; we have not tried our product on PCB’s – we are looking for a development partner for this because this toxin is easy-to-reduce for PCB’sGas Emissions & Dust Control – gel-like physical adherance – brings particulates down – a simple and effective solution
7. Ion exchange resins (chemical) are used in industry for highly-concentrated odours. EKO GEA is biological ion exchange – we believe we are the ONLY company in the market with this capability.
8. Microbes do the work
9. Additive Only!! These results via a SAFE, biological, GREEN, EEC-certified ORGANIC Additive – in bucket trials!!!!! Note that our product performs much better in the real world – bucket trials are only used to “get us in the door” with customers so we can provide our full-scale protocol. Biology needs biomass for full performance (there is a reason they call bioMASS). Bucket trials do not provide sufficient biomass, nor space, nor retention time for full de-toxification.
10. “Produced Water” is the water oil companies use to “fracture” shale rock underground to release natural gas – also called “Frack Water” or “Fracking” – highly controversial from an environmental perspective, and the wastewater is very costly to treat. These results are from our Additive alone – added to large holding lagoons. Odour is a MAJOR problem w/ Produced Water which EKO GEA solves, of course... Anecdote on BP Oil Spill: This trial was done by an attorney friend who lives on the Alambama Gulf coast, in a 5-gallon bucket. We gave him our protocol and told him to expect results in 5 days. He phoned on Day 3 to say ALL of the oil was gone in all 5 buckets.
11. FOG = Fats, Oils & Grease (wastewater treatment nomenclature) – difficult to treat – EKO GEA is THE solution.
12. EKO GEA’s Artificial soil passes EEC (European Economic Community) standards on heavy metals & pathogens for use as legal “Artificial Soil”
13. Multiple benefits for plants, trees, shrubs, flowers and SOILS
14.
