2. Wimba
• Wimba Classroom is a live, virtual classroom,
or online meeting room, in which people can
interact by talking, listening, drawing, writing,
using video or sharing applications and
content
– Reduce isolation - engaging with staff & other students
– Familiarisation with Library services
– Decrease frustration with using online resources
– More interactive than text chat & static webpages

3. Wimba
• Presenter area allows facilitation with
powerpoint slides and access to the web to
view webpage, eboard or virtual whiteboard
and Share (sharing part of desktop which is
useful for demonstrating the use of electronic
resources
• There are breakout rooms that can be utilized
for groups
• There are virtual hand‐raising for questions
among other features

4. Elluminate
Features:

5. Ilinc
• The iLinc platform is a computer‐based tool
for communicating with students at a distance
in real time. It transports pictures or video via
the voice‐over internet protocol (IP) platform,
allowing the participants to see the picture or
video of the person who has “The Floor.

6. Ilinc
• Ilinc allows participants to see the names of
the participants in the session, the agenda
feedback palette, and the text messages
section.
• The participants can observe a white board or
where the Instructor can import, draw or
write material to compliment the lecture.
• The instructor can easily add PowerPoint
presentations to the agenda.

• Elluminate, Ilinc and Wimba are online tools
to enable the instructor to conduct online
synchronous interaction in an online class.
