1. We love you, Teacher Sally!MWF 4s 2009-2010 We had a wonderful year this year! We have so much to say about all of the fun we had, all of the friends we made, and all of the important things that we learned…
2. Abigail Will Alina “Teacher Sally teach-ed me about being good friends and having fun with good friends!” “School is fun because snack is so yummy, that’s why! And I learned to do the monkey bars all by myself.” “I love you, Teacher Sally! You are very kind. Thank you for being my teacher and for all the good times I had at school!”
3. Danny Kaden Jenna “Teacher Sally, thank you for teaching me walk away power for when someone is being mean to me!” “I like to play “Family” at school. I don’t think teacher Sally taught me that game…she just helped me figure it out for myself!” “Thank you for teaching me all the fun songs, especially the ‘Fountain Floating Deep and Wide’ song. I sing it to my brother!”
4. Kai Luke Lindsey “Teacher Sally makes me laugh! And…she knows how to play Simon Says!” “Actually…my favorite part of school is playing outside on the bikes!” “Ah-too-wee-yah, ah-too-wee-yah, ah-too-wee-tah-tah!!”
5. Riley John Savannah (this is a joint quote with Savannah!) “Teacher Sally taught us how to go boy-girl-boy-girl…” “…and that’s how we make new friends! *pause* She also taught us about germs.” “I liked how teacher Sally taught me that *pulling his ears* means ‘I see you!’ She taught Sammy too!”
6. Kevin Tessa Teddy “Sign language!” (Me: “Wasn’t that Teacher Jennifer?”) “Just write down that thing that I said, okay?” “I liked finding treasure from the leprechauns outside!” I like Teacher Sally because she helps me pick out books, and paint pictures. She also reads good stories!
7. Andrew Owen Gigi “I like Teacher Sally because she helps me pick out books, and paint pictures. She also reads good stories!” “I like Teacher Sally because she plays games with me and sometimes sits behind me. She also puts more snacks on the table!” “I liked doing the monkey bars on the playground!”
8. Brendan Charlie “I liked all of the books that Teacher Sally read to me!” “I love Teacher Sally because she always listens to what I say and I like the way she sings at circle time!”
9. We learned how to make ourselves useful! By helping to tidy things up… ..and trying our hardest to keep our shoes tied…even when they kept coming off!
10. At playtime, we learned… …how to play together, how to create things on our own, and even how to accessorize!
11. At snack time, we learned… ..to wash our hands before we sit down, thank God before we eat, and to save those leftovers when it is a really yummy treat (like ice cream)!
12. On the playground, we learned… ..to enjoy just hanging around, to get to where we want to go, and (of course) to always look for and find the magic!
13. And we learned the really important stuff… …like how to look good from all angles!
15. We learned that hard word really does pay off! On the last day of school, guess who made it across the monkey bard for the first time ever?!
16. Teacher Sally, we owe you thanks not just for all you do for our children, but also for the many ways you help us to be better parents. Here are just a few of the ways… “Teacher Sally taught me what is ‘normal”, age-appropriate behavior…and she always modeled such calm and patience in the classroom!” “Teacher Sally taught me to be a patient mom with my daughter…and just to really enjoy her!” “I am a better mom because Teacher Sally taught me that no matter what is going on in your life, you can always put on a happy face and appreciate the little things children do to brighten up your day!” “My talks with teacher Sally taught me that I know what is best for my child, and that I should follow my instincts. She is incredibly observant of each child, and very loving to all of them.” “Teacher Sally always put my daughter’s behavior into perspective for me, which allowed me to just relax!” “Sally always saw the great potential in my son – it was a wonderful encouragement to me as a mom!” “One of the greatest things about having Teacher Sally is that it is not just the child who benefits…it is also the mom!” “Teacher Sally, thank you so much for your dedication to all of the kids this year. You made my son’s year so very special!” Thank you for a wonderful year! Those of us with little siblings really look forward to having you as a teacher again! Thank you from the moms, too!
