2. 1.PrepareYourTomatoSeeds
To grow great-tasting tomatoes, you'll need to purchase some
high-quality seeds. Tomato heirloom seeds are a popular

• Cover the plant stems with wax paper for cutworm
prevention.
• Cage or stake your tomato plants to enhance air
circulationandpreventpestsinyourgarden.

Wait 7 days after transplanting, give 16 ounces of water to
each plant daily. 2 weeks after transplanting, begin watering
theplantstwiceweekly(0.75to1gallonperweek).
Increase the amount a bit
during hotter days and when
theplantsaregettingbigger.
Water early in the morning so
that the plants will be dry by
nighttime.

Takecare ofthem regularly if youwanta continuoussupply of
fresh tomatoes. Prune the plants from time to time and make
