Very often we use the word team work in our organizational context without perhaps fully understanding what we mean by teamwork. An effective team requires the participation of every member in order to be successful. When one person cannot accomplish a job alone and several individuals must cooperate to fulfill a mission, you need a team. The better the cooperation, communication and coordination among members, the more efficient the team.

FABERNOVEL INSTITUTE and BAP are releasing the results of a study about collaboration that reviews its practices and standards. The survey was conducted among 50 French and international companies between February and April 2018. Collaboration is not a new concept. It's been 15 years that its Google Trends curve oscillates slightly but keeps the same dynamics. First used in the field of learning, the word "collaboration" is experiencing - thanks to the emergence of the new economy and its actors, GAFA, unicorns and start-ups - a certain rebirth. The first result of the survey shows that for 80% of respondents, collaboration is beneficial to the company. The study both questions some mainstream ideas that still exist and shows that the digital revolution has succeeded in spreading its practices to large organizations.

Global Virtual Organizations: Issues in Management As technology continues to be dominant, virtual organizations are becoming increasingly more popular in the workforce today. Many companies are going virtual to reach a broader audience, save on overhead, and expand. Virtual establishments resemble traditional organizations in many ways, and can adapt to change almost as quickly as it is introduced. While reading about the many issues faced when managing a virtual organization, these four issues were the most popular. 1. Communication: Language barriers, perception, and and interpretation play a huge role in the success of a company. Lacking cohesiveness in these areas can have a detrimental affect on productivity. 2. Interpersonal Issues: Due to the lack of face-to-face interaction, there is a lost of connectively with co-workers. How does a team build trust amongst each other? How does a manager effectively measure performance, deliver performance reviews, and develop an employee? 3. Economy: A benefit to a virtual organization is the ability to employee people from all over the world. Consider the necessities needed to work virtually. Mariel Miller & Allyson Hadwin, University of Victoria Presented at the 2013 conference for the Canadian Society for the Study of Education (CSSE) Increasing emphasis on collaboration in academic and work contexts means learners are required to develop skills for regulating teamwork. The purpose of this study was to examine scripting and visualization tools for supporting regulation of shared task perceptions during a complex collaborative task. Prior to the task, groups engaged in individual and group planning using either (a) a scripting tool structuring regulation including task analysis, or (b) a scripting tool augmented with visualization of each member’s task perceptions. Findings indicated that, in both groups, shared task perceptions were generally accurate in relation to the instructor’s expectations.
