4. Front cover Ideas I got the idea for my front cover as its the summer Henley college magazine edition I thought it should have a picture to do with what the students will be going or looking forward to in the summer so I wanted to take a picture at or of a festival. As many students go to reading festival this image is based on that.

7. Evaluation of Henley College Magazine draft Evaluation of Henley collage magazine draft My media product challenges forms and conventions of colour magazines as it is Bright and colourful and stands out. Instead of one picture it has 4 unlike in my research where all the magazines had one image of a girl weather it’s aimed at male or female this makes it different from other magazines and as my magazine has a background I didn’t want to cover it with a large image. My magazine represents collage students who typically what to get the best out of their summer. Whether it’s male or female. This is represented by the images on the front of my magazine who are young students partying and studying and then a picture of a university as that is what most students will go on to do and in my magazine it has a section on helping students apply. The collage itself would distribute my magazine as it is aimed for college students and benefits the students in the area it’s based. This would also mean it is freely available to students which will mean more will read and be able to purchase the magazine. The audience for my media product is collage students aged 16+ to the age where they leave to go off to university (16-20) I attracted and addressed the audience by the typical party beach images on the front also a stressed girl trying to work as when the magazine is distributed it is the end of exams before the summer. The bring text and colours stand out and the non typical font helps to stand out to. The colour of the font is colours which we would link to summer linking to the overall theme of the magazine and attracting the audience. Technologies i have learnt about are the glosser and thicker the paper the more expensive the magazine is to produce but the better it looks so to try and find a balance between the two. Also the use of backgrounds to try and attract the reader and give a summer handbook feel to my media product. So before the audience even read it they roughly know what it is about. The handbook look to my magazine also makes it more appealing and different to other magazines available as in my research none of the magazines did this i feel my magazine is a niche magazine different to others. To improve my magazine i would use a computer with a larger range of fonts and better technologies that would make my magazine stand out and look better.
