Most of Australia is very dry and hot. With central
Australia being uninhabitable, it has been
nicknamed The Dead Heart. Water is like a lifeline in
Australia. Since it is essential for survival, the way
people have settled is determined mostly by rivers
and the ocean. The weather varies significantly in
Australia with scorching hot summers and cold
snowy winters. This causes a wide variety of animals to inhabit the land, including marsupials in which
Australia is well known for.
Just from an aerial view, Australia can be recognized by its vast deserts,
wide mountain ranges and vein-like river system. Looking at some of their
architectural beauty like the Sydney Opera house or Harbor Bridge easily
identifies Australia as well.
Unlike the typical schooling done in the highly populated cities, the children
that live in sparse areas must learn by video conferencing with teachers,
and they must submit homework by either mail or email, depending on the work. In Australian
schooling, it is not mandatory to take a second language in all states, but is encouraged partially because
of its multicultural population. The main language is English, but other languages are spoken.
In Australia, sports are very dominant in human interest. Although subjects like music are taken an
interest in, sports are much more popular. This is due to the climate and weather of Australia. Because
of the ability to play outside year- round in some parts of Australia, it is not limited to a certain time of
year.
The economy in Australian has been steadily increasing because of their
export and tourism income. Other countries often turn to Australia for
products such as wool, beef, gold and wheat. Their mining and
agricultural business is a big factor in their economy.
Australia can be identified in many ways. From its drastic climate,
remarkable architecture, and plant and animal life, Australia is a very interesting place.
