blocks, sticks, as well as the spoons
and pots. They also played the cards
and the team games.

They used the ball made of
cloth.
A game called „Two fire” was
very popular.
In that game, children
divided into two teams,
and they threw the
ball to tag the member of the
opposite team who was then
out of the game.

4. OUR GRANDMOTHERS
TOYS
Our grandmothers often
played with dolls. They were
made of straw, wood,
or china. Fifty years
ago the dolls were very
expensive.

5. Skipping ropes
Girls often skipped
the ropes or
hopped on one leg.
They also played
with sand.

6. OUR GRANDFATHERS
Our grandfathers
TOYSusually had wooden
toys e.g. lorries,
blocks or spinners.
They often made the
wooden pipes and
the
wooden whistles.
They could
made toys
themselves .

7. Our grandparents made their toys
of wood, straw, paper and cloth.
The toys made of china were very
expensive. Hand – made toys were
more accessible than others.
