2. 3D printers will save the world, we know how and it
will! And the list gets longer and longer as more
evidences piles up showing the multiple truly
helpful uses and wonder of 3D printers. From
animal preservation, medical and cosmetic
surgery, architecture, fashion and design and
heck even the sex toy industry is benefitting from
it. It’s a truly practical machine that can morph
into what you want with a plethora of materials
you can use to make it! And just recently we
have pushed again the boundaries of what we
can make, but this time into things all the world
could agree makes us giddy happy and cheerful.
What are these? Read on to find out!
3. Chocolate Sculptures
Who doesn’t like chocolates? What if you can
transform ordinary melted chocolates into works
of art? Yeah it’s “been done before” you may
sneer, but into sculptures that defy gravity or into
designs you really want? We don’t think so!
Normal chocolate sculptures are hard to make,
you need a special mold for it, plus the details
are not that accurate, but with the power of 3D
printing this is now a thing of the past! Smart
Gastronomy Lab at the University of Liège in
Belgium has created this 3D printer specializing
in handling chocolate. Dorothée Goffin the head
of this project says they’ll move to other objects
to combine food and art with, and they started
with chocolate as medium because that’s what
Belgium is known for. Well that makes absolute
sense! Goffin also says their next project
explores pasta as a medium. We can’t wait to try
that out!
4. Bubble Bucket
Bubbles could be one of those things that can
make even the most serious of adults into
reminiscing like a kid again. What if we told you
there’s a 3D printed machine that can launch
14,000 bubbles per minute? Bubble Bath
Onslaught! The Bubble Bucket is a modified
motorcycle chain drive but instead of having a
horizontal built its design is vertical and has a 5
gallon bucket at the bottom containing the
bubble solution; it doesn’t have a blowing
mechanism but instead relies on a wind source
like a fan or on a windy day.
5. Internet Drones
Yeah, it’s already known the aircraft parts can now
be 3D printed but making 3D printed solar
powered drones that can blanket a third world
country with high speed internet? Sign us up
please! This joint venture of Google and
Facebook has already been making waves since
last month and has started its pilot run in Sri
Lanka. The project will then focus on African
nation this month. Providing internet to those in
need without harming Mother Nature?
