Living and Eating Gluten Free

Cooking gluten free doesn't mean taste free, not anymore no no no. In the gluten-filled world we
live in, we learned as children the foods that we liked or didn't like. But now as a sufferer of gluten
intolerance we now have to virtually replace our whole diet with food free of gluten. Foods that we
love such as cookies, cakes, bread and pasta have to be avoided, or do they? Luckily the answer
is NO as these days gluten free food has improved remarkably.
Food manufacturers have realized that approximately 1 in 15 people suffer from this intolerance
and have come to the rescue. Foods free of gluten were widely known as being tasteless, in some
cases the carton the food came in would have tasted better. At the start of your gluten free diet
many things you buy will end up in the garbage bin, but don't get frustrated and give up as you will
have to understand that now you will have to create 3 meals a day 7 days a week.In time this will
come naturally to you and you will wonder what all the fuss was about.
Most supermarkets and grocery stores now dedicate a large section to the gluten intolerant
population. Here you will find plenty of basic ingredients for home cooking including, packet
bread, cake and soup mixes to name a few.Pasta in every shape and dairy products minus the
gluten.
As the gluten intolerance population continues to grow, more pressure is being put on food
manufacturers to improve gluten free products and thankfully they are. Most of your favourite
foods are now being produced with new products appearing all the time. With a bit of time and
perseverance and a little bit of trial and error, your gluten intolerance won't be that hard to master
and the benefits will be amazing.
There are many tried and tested recipes available that you can make at home and as a bonus they
actually taste good. Many non gluten intolerant people can also eat and enjoy these family recipes
so the family dinners don't have to suffer.
Written by Brent Carson. My advice to sufferers is to get a good cookbook and experiment with
some dishes, you might be surprised at how easy it can be to live well on a diet free of gluten.
Cooking with out gluten can be made easier with quality products and good old fashion no-how.
