This document discusses the management of metadata in linguistic fieldwork projects. It describes the development of a metadata creation and management tool for a longitudinal child language acquisition research project involving multiple fieldworkers. The tool was designed to address metadata creation best practices and support both online and offline data collection in challenging fieldwork scenarios. Key requirements included managing relational participant data and media files, as well as generating reports, conducting searches, and synchronizing data across devices.
