Zimbabwe in a native language there means “houses of stone” by the Shona people. It
is a little bigger then Montana.
Languages
The languages in Zimbabwe are English, Shona,and Ndebele.
Climate
The climate is 66 degrees Farhenheit on average.
Victoria Falls
The locals call Victoria Falls Mosi-oa-tunya (“the smoke that thunders”). At 1708 meters
tall it is the largest curtain of water in the world.
Food
The primary food in Zimbabwe is Maize cooked up and boiled different ways and
mashed into a porridge and served with greens or meat with ground nut sauce . Foods
eaten all the time are groundnuts bollixed or roasted ,caterpillars termites and milk are
just some exapels.
Traditions
In Zimbabwe they use totems to identify different tribes or to show pride. 44% of the
population is Christians yet some still believe in ghosts and sprits and honoring the
dead, And witches are a way to the dead. Some churches allow a lose translation of
the bible where this kind of belief is attecpted.
Sports
Favorite sports in Zimbabwe include soccer, rugby,and cricket. Some other ones are
golf swimming and hand ball.
2. Economy
The economy is growing at a rate of 5% with a GDP of $6.906 billion (2012). Its major
exports are platinum, cotton, tobacco, gold and ferroalloys. Major imports include
transport equipment, chemicals, fuels and food.
