BODEGA SAN NICOLÁS DE TOLENTINO

San Nicolas winery was founded in 1945 in
Almonacid de la Sierra (Zaragoza) and took
the name of its patron saint San Nicolás de
Tolentino.
Marqués de Almonacid was the landlord
during the middle Ages.
The winemaking is specialised in red wines,
involving most part of the production with
Garnacha, Tempranillo and Cariñena Grape,
symbol of this land in Aragón.
San Nicolás Winery has imbued the long
viticulture tradition and rich heritage to create
great and bodied wines.

D.O. CARIÑENA
The Cariñena Denominación de Origen is situated 56 km south
east of Zaragoza, Aragón. In the Ibérica mountain range between
the Campo de Cariñena valley and the Ebro river.
Generally the climate is arid in Cariñena, with an annual rainfall of
350mm. The indigenous wind “el Cierzo”, combined with the
dryness of the climate lead to poor and stony soils.
Vineyard and grape
The main grape varieties are red: Garnacha and
Cariñena (which originates from Cariñena)
together with Tempranillo.
The main white grape variety is Macabeo (20%).
Garnacha variety was born in Cariñena sharing its
origin with Cariñena Grape. Most of them are
planted in bush vines are 30-40 years old..

Macabeo
Marqués de Almonacid blanco has a straw-yellow colour with green
tones. A fresh bouquet with floral tones which reminds of aromatic
herbs such as anis and fennel. It has a strictly fruity quality (banana,
citric tones). On the palate the wine is smooth and velvety.
It goes very well with rice dishes, shellfish and fish.
Serve at 8-10º C.

MARQUÉS DE ALMONACID WHITE WINE

Garnacha
Marqués de Almonacid Rosado has a lively rosé colour. It’s powerful
and remarkably floral and fruity bouquet highlights the scents of the
grape. The palate gives a flavoursome finish.
Best served with pasta dishes, poultry and as aperitif.
Serve 10º-12º C

MARQUÉS DE ALMONACID ROSE WINE

Garnacha
Marqués de Almonacid Tinto has a appealing cherry colour. The
bouquet is reminiscent of red fruit, raspberry, with hints of truffles.
Full bodied. The balancing acidity gives the wine a good structure
and a long finish.
Best served with pasta dishes and poultry.
Serve at 14-16ºC

MARQUÉS DE ALMONACID YOUNG WINE

Garnacha - Tempranillo
Made from 60% Garnacha grapes and 40 % Tempranillo grapes. Its
cherry red, intensive colour with garnet tones, reveal themselves
with an intensive and complex nose. Nuances of spices and truffles
are formed to a marvellous harmony with vanilla notes from 12
months in oak.
Marques de Almonacid Reserva is a perfect match with red meat,
game and strong cheeses.
Serve at 18º C.

MARQUÉS DE ALMONACID RESERVA

Garnacha - Tempranillo
An intense deep purple colour with a brighter rim. This has dense mature
red fruits, plums, currants and some grape liqueur accompanied by notes
of bottle ageing (flint and smoke) which dissipate as it gains air along with
some hints of toast. The mouth is big and round, a great weight of fruit,
velvet like. Its complexity can be noted again on the finish where subtle
toasted notes bring the wine to a very pleasurable long conclusion.
It pairs wonderful with roast meat and game, poultry and strong cheeses.
Drink this wine at 18ºC
