The project I am going to tell you about stems from a Wild and Crazy Idea. Wild and Crazy you say? Yes… yes indeed. wild and crazy. The seed of this idea came to me in 7th grade. Yes during the 70’s, when I read the Diary of Anne Frank as a student. The book was transformative for me. I read the diary, as if it was written just for me. Just to me. Anne’s diary spoke to me personally as it does for so many of us. The diary highlights so well the terror of the hidden treasure. To hide, not as in a game of hide and seek, but to hide for your life, knowing, as you listen to the radio and receive more and more dreadful news, that to be found means a life of terror, of sickness, of starvation. I wanted to build a time capsule to save Anne, to save the people of the Annex from their cruel fate.
