1 Statistics Counters
1.1 Overview
In the following tables there are presented statistics counters supported by the Tellabs 8600 product
family NEs. The counters are free running and wrapped around when maximum value is reached.
The Counter column contains counter name.
The Description column describes the counter.
The Support (8660,8630,8620 / 8605 / 8607 / 8609 / 8611) column identifies the Feature Pack (FP)
numbers indicating the first release where the counter is supported (support is continued in next
releases), separated by slashes (/). Dash (-) means that the NE does not support the counter.
• The first FP number relates to Tellabs 8620 access switch, Tellabs 8630 access switch and Tellabs
8660 edge switch.
• The second FP number relates to Tellabs 8605 access switch.
• The third FP number relates to Tellabs 8607 access switch.
• The fourth FP number relates to Tellabs 8609 access switch.
• The fifth FP number relates to Tellabs 8611 access switch.
1.2 AtmVirtualCircuitGroup
This resource presents the statistics for virtual circuit group which can be considered as reduced
ATM interface. Only a very limited number of counters compared to native ATM interface will
be implemented.
Counter Description Support
(8660,8630,8620 /
8605 / 8607 / 8609
/ 8611)
ifHCInUcastPkts The number of packets, delivered by FP 3.0 / 1.4 / 1.1 / 1.0
this sub-layer to a higher (sub-)layer, / 1.1
which were not addressed to a multicast
or broadcast address at this sub-layer.
This counter is a 64-bit version of
ifInUcastPkts.
Number of received assigned cells
(including ILMI, OAM, signalling,

interface which were discarded because
of an unknown or unsupported protocol.
For character-oriented or fixed-length

discarded, they are also counted here.
ifInDiscards The number of inbound packets which FP 3.0 / 1.4 / 1.1 / 1.0
were chosen to be discarded even though / 1.1
no errors had been detected to prevent
their being deliverable to a higher-layer
protocol. One possible reason for
discarding such a packet could be to free
up buffer space.
One possible reason for discarding such
an cell could be to free up buffer space or
policing.
ifHCOutUcastPkts The total number of packets that FP 3.0 / 1.4 / 1.1 / 1.0
higher-level protocols requested be / 1.1
transmitted, and which were not addressed

their being transmitted. One possible
reason for discarding such a packet could
be to free up buffer space.
