1. To change a tire, remove the hubcap if present and loosen the lug nuts counterclockwise using a lug wrench. Place the jack under the car in the location specified by the owner's manual and raise it until it contacts the frame. 2. Jack up the car further to lift the wheel off the ground, then remove the lug nuts and flat tire. Put the spare tire on and hand tighten the lug nuts. 3. Lower the car most of the way, then fully tighten the lug nuts before driving to a tire shop to repair the flat.
