Internationally, there has been increasing concern by educators regarding developing graduate attributes such as critical scholarship, citizenship and lifelong learning to prepare students as agents of social good dealing with the complexity and uncertainty of the twenty-first century (Barnett, 2004). Conventionally, universities have used constructive alignment (Biggs, 2012) as a means of embedding graduate attributes such as the development of critical and reflective skills into the curriculum. However, the possibility of applying the nine principles of authentic learning (Herrington, Reeves, & Oliver, 2010) within the social work curriculum to facilitate the development of graduate attributes, has not been fully explored in the higher education or social work (SW) education literature. This paper addresses this gap in the literature by examining how the use of authentic learning principles by social work educators could lead to desired graduate attributes for students. In investigating the potential that authentic learning may have for developing graduate attributes SW education, this paper draws on in-depth interviews about authentic learning which were conducted with five South African SW educators from three differently placed higher education institutions. These interviews were part of a larger national study, which investigated the role that emerging technologies (ET) >Veletsianos, 2011) can play in improving teaching and learning in higher education. The transcripts of the interviews were analysed by the authors to establish whether or not authentic learning principles identified by Herrington et al. (2010) and ETs have the potential to develop desired graduate attributes in students. The findings revealed not all nine elements of authentic learning and ET existed in the case studies.

Researching and Developing Engaging Pedagogies 2018 2H Action research – guidance notes 1 Capstone unit Researching and Developing Engaging Pedagogies is the capstone unit for the Master of Teaching (Primary). The core aim is to enhance and measure students’ readiness for the teaching profession. · The unit develops students’ skills and expertise in researching their own practice, and facilitates their ‘researcherly’ disposition. (become a teacher-researcher) · The unit supports students’ in refining their pedagogy throughsuch reflective practice. (progress as a teacher) · The unit challenges students to inquire into, reflect upon and subsequently develop classroom pedagogies and assessment practices that facilitate substantive engagement in learning. (become an engaging teacher) The unit extends students’ students’ research skills by drawing on participatory action research (e.g. through the use of peer planning, focus groups and peer assessment). We focus on pedagogies that encourage learners of all social and cultural backgrounds to have engaging and productive relationships with education, schools and classrooms. We review theories which apply to the study of engaging practices in diverse professional contexts. In particular, we look at research into student engagement undertaken in the UWS Fair Go Project. Key readings have been selected to give students theoretical and practical understandings of what engaging teaching looks like, especially for students from disadvantaged backgrounds. We link the discussion on engagement to contemporary approaches to pedagogical innovation, which foreground motivation, creativity, technology integration and dialogic space in classrooms. Students are encouraged to implement and evaluate these teaching approaches in their professional experiences. 2 Researching engagement Educational research on student engagement centres on understanding and developing engaging practices. Our focus is on innovative pedagogies that facilitate deep learning through substantive engagement. In this sense, we encourage you to shift your focus from behaviour management (controlling behaviour) to the management of learning (enabling and facilitating quality learning experiences). Concerns about the behaviour of students are valid concerns. We however encourage a pedagogic response to problem behaviour which recognises the links between the quality of the teaching and student behaviour. So engaging pedagogies do not simply ‘fix’ behaviour by exerting control (e.g. a reward systems or external incentive). Instead, we ask you to look deeply into your teaching and see where it is lacking in engagement. It is imperative that you become familiar with the content of our core text (available online through the UWS library): Munns, G., Sawyer, W. & Cole, B. (Eds) (2013) Exemplary teachers of students in poverty. Abingdon, UK: Routledge. Another key resource for engagement (also available online) is: Fair Go Project. (20.

Summary It is unquestionable that we have a process of change and innovation in the Spanish University system. The new European Framework of Education at Universities (EEES), will have important changes. Not only changes in the formative itinerary of university degrees, but also in the establishment of teaching-learning methodologies with the purpose to develop key competences in future Spanish professionals. From that perspective, the introduction of participative methodologies in classrooms is going to deal with relevant learnings; basic abilities for the learning are going to be developed. It allows new possibilities to develop teaching, as well as overcome the traditional concept of classroom. This report gets the opinions and aspects of the students in the case of teachers’ degrees: Speciality of Childhood Education, related to the application of innovative teaching-learning strategies in their formation, facing the incorporation of the EEES

Topic: Dynamics of change: Concepts of change The phrase "Dynamics of change" means the forces and processes that make things transform or evolve over time. It includes the different factors that cause shifts and developments in a specific situation. "Dynamics" usually refers to the underlying mechanisms or driving forces, and "change" is about the shift or transition from one state to another. The term is commonly used to talk about the complexities and interactions that affect how things develop or adapt. This idea is important in various fields like managing organizations, social sciences, economics, and natural sciences. It helps in analyzing, planning, and making decisions effectively by understanding how things change over time. Concepts of Change Change is a big part of our lives. It's when things become different or shift from one way to another. This happens in many parts of life, like how we live, how society works, and even in nature. Change is just a natural part of how things are. People have looked into and talked about change in different fields like psychology, sociology, how organizations work, and philosophy. We're going to talk about some important ideas related to change. In the context of educational change and development, several key concepts are crucial for understanding the dynamics of transformation and improvement. While I won't delve into specific change theories, I'll explore fundamental concepts that are often associated with educational change: 1. Innovation: Innovation refers to the introduction of new ideas, practices, or technologies in education. It can include changes in teaching methods, curriculum design, assessment techniques, or the integration of technology. Innovations are often central to educational change and development as they aim to improve learning outcomes and experiences. 2. Adaptability: The ability of educational systems, institutions, and educators to adapt to changing circumstances is essential. This includes being flexible in response to new educational challenges, societal shifts, or advancements in pedagogical research. Institutions that are adaptable can better navigate and implement changes effectively. 3. Professional Development: Ongoing professional development is crucial for educators to stay current with evolving educational practices. Providing opportunities for teachers to enhance their skills and knowledge ensures that they are well-equipped to implement changes in the classroom and contribute to the overall development of the educational system. 4. Leadership: Effective leadership is a critical factor in driving educational change. Educational leaders, whether at the school, district, or national level, play a key role in creating a vision for change, fostering a positive culture, and providing the necessary support and resources to implement and sustain transformations.

Enterprise Knowledge’s Urmi Majumder, Principal Data Architecture Consultant, and Fernando Aguilar Islas, Senior Data Science Consultant, presented "Driving Behavioral Change for Information Management through Data-Driven Green Strategy" on March 27, 2024 at Enterprise Data World (EDW) in Orlando, Florida. In this presentation, Urmi and Fernando discussed a case study describing how the information management division in a large supply chain organization drove user behavior change through awareness of the carbon footprint of their duplicated and near-duplicated content, identified via advanced data analytics. Check out their presentation to gain valuable perspectives on utilizing data-driven strategies to influence positive behavioral shifts and support sustainability initiatives within your organization. In this session, participants gained answers to the following questions: - What is a Green Information Management (IM) Strategy, and why should you have one? - How can Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) support your Green IM Strategy through content deduplication? - How can an organization use insights into their data to influence employee behavior for IM? - How can you reap additional benefits from content reduction that go beyond Green IM?

Microsoft's Threat Matrix for Kubernetes helps organizations understand the attack surface a Kubernetes deployment introduces to their environments. This ensures that adequate detections and mitigations are in place. By covering over 40 different attacker techniques, defenders can learn about Kubernetes-specific mitigations and controls to deploy to their environments. In this session, we will explore the MS-TA9013 Host Path Mount technique, which is commonly used by attackers to perform privilege escalation in a Kubernetes cluster. Attendees will learn how attackers and defenders can: * Escape the container's host volume mount to gain persistence on an underlying node * Move laterally from the underlying node into the customer's cloud environment * Analyze Kubernetes audit logs to detect pods deployed with a hostPath mount * Deploy an admission controller that prevents new pods from using a hostPath mount

With more memory available, system performance of three Dell devices increased, which can translate to a better user experience Conclusion When your system has plenty of RAM to meet your needs, you can efficiently access the applications and data you need to finish projects and to-do lists without sacrificing time and focus. Our test results show that with more memory available, three Dell PCs delivered better performance and took less time to complete the Procyon Office Productivity benchmark. These advantages translate to users being able to complete workflows more quickly and multitask more easily. Whether you need the mobility of the Latitude 5440, the creative capabilities of the Precision 3470, or the high performance of the OptiPlex Tower Plus 7010, configuring your system with more RAM can help keep processes running smoothly, enabling you to do more without compromising performance.

The Raspberry Pi 5 was announced on October 2023. This new version of the popular embedded device comes with a new iteration of Broadcom’s VideoCore GPU platform, and was released with a fully open source driver stack, developed by Igalia. The presentation will discuss some of the major changes required to support this new Video Core iteration, the challenges we faced in the process and the solutions we provided in order to deliver conformant OpenGL ES and Vulkan drivers. The talk will also cover the next steps for the open source Raspberry Pi 5 graphics stack. Created by Mozilla Research in 2012 and now part of Linux Foundation Europe, the Servo project is an experimental rendering engine written in Rust. It combines memory safety and concurrency to create an independent, modular, and embeddable rendering engine that adheres to web standards. Stewardship of Servo moved from Mozilla Research to the Linux Foundation in 2020, where its mission remains unchanged. After some slow years, in 2023 there has been renewed activity on the project, with a roadmap now focused on improving the engine’s CSS 2 conformance, exploring Android support, and making Servo a practical embeddable rendering engine. In this presentation, Rakhi Sharma reviews the status of the project, our recent developments in 2023, our collaboration with Tauri to make Servo an easy-to-use embeddable rendering engine, and our plans for the future to make Servo an alternative web rendering engine for the embedded devices industry.
