2. LATEST TRENDS
• I believe there are many
technological trends and
tools that will most likely
change education in the
future. However, the one
trend I feel will most
radically change the way
education is taught is a
move away from desktop
machines towards
integrated mobile units.
3. OUT with the old IN with the
New
• Not many people in today’s tech
savvy world rely on old-fashioned
desktop computers with the big
computer screens. Technology
continues to grow and grow as
time passes, and the software
programs and products continue
to grow smaller and smaller. Any
individual can access email,
Skype, and web pages from any
accessible smart phone today. In
addition, more and more
educators are becoming more
knowledgeable and capable of
teaching students in a variety of
different ways, as opposed to the
old paper and pencil methods of
teaching and learning.
4. WHY????
• There are a few reasons why I feel that
this trend will most likely change
education in the near future. First,
education through new trends can be a
fun and exciting way to learn. It
provides students with a different
perspective and outlook on things, as
well as, builds their skills with patience
and trying new things.
5. Learning is not limited to school
settings…
• I also believe that learning does not have to be something that is limited
to computers only and inside of classrooms. There are many different
tools that students can learn from including, but not limited to, IPads,
Kindle’s, Interactive Whiteboards, Nooks, where there are a variety of
reading software, educational games, and interactive educational
programs can be downloaded and played wherever and whenever. For
example, a student who struggles with basic phonics who owns a Kindle
Fire can download an educational reading program and take it with
them on a family road trip, learning a variety of learning strategies in
the car. IPads continue to have a range of different educational
programs and more and more educational settings are beginning to use
them as a supplemental learning tool.
6. TIPS and REMINDERS for
teachers:
• There are definitely a few things that education providers must
remember when trying to teach these new tools to students,
especially students who struggle from learning disabilities and
have attention problems. Teachers must be well trained prior to
trying to teach a student a new tool. A good strategy would be
to collaborate with other educational professionals, so that
everyone is on the same page. They must be able to inform any
particular student in a way that each individual student can
understand. Providing students with step by step, clear, and
basic directions when introducing new tools will also be
beneficial for students. Teachers should often pay particular
attention to the new and current trends that may be floating
around in educational settings so that they can provide their
students with the latest and most effective learning tools.
8. Finally….
• Overall, I feel that as long as teachers continue to
stay up to date with the latest technology trends
that would benefit students, and practice the
actual applications before presenting them to
students, students skills regarding technology and
learning will skyrocket in the near future.
