2. Front Cover: Masthead and Main cover line
The masthead on my magazine will attract an
audience because it is bright and bold and
stands out from the photo because it is a
contrasting colour. The name note will stand
out because it will remind the reader of a
musical note which is often used in music and
the industry.
The main cover line is also used in attracting
the audience because it says ‘World Exclusive’
which will force the reader into believing they
are reading something that nobody else is
reading. The colour also stands out from the
image and contrasts with the masthead and
the effects I used to make it look interesting
and stand out.
3. Front Cover: Photo
The image I used on my front cover is very
apt to the genre of my music – Indie pop.
She is wearing the style of clothing that my
target audience would usually wear and fits
as well as it fitting in with the colour scheme
of my magazine.
The background is very plain compared with
a simple brick background in the
background meaning that the focus will be
on the artist and not the surroundings in the
hope that the reader will want to read it
because they like the main image and feel
they can relate to it.
4. Front Cover: Cover lines
The cover lines will attract my audience
because whilst doing my research I asked
what they would like to see included in my
magazine and any artists that they want to
see. I have used the artists requested on the
front cover to attract the audience because
they like the artists used.
I have also used a flasher to make the words
and competition to stand out from the rest of
the cover lines because it is coloured in bright
red and the artist was again requested in my
research.
5. Contents page: Pictures
The pictures used on my contents page
attract my audience because they are set in
interesting places and there are a number of
different artists used.
They are also dressed in a way that I expect
the target audience would dress and the kind
of poses I would imagine they would pull and
all very relevant to the music genre.
The first picture takes up a large space of the
contents page meaning attention is drawn to
them.
6. Contents page: Adverts
This is an advert on the bottom of the
contents page showing an offer to the
audience. The rectangle is the only thing on
the page that is red which immediately draws
attention from the reader because they want
to see what it is about.
7. Double page: Article
The article is an exclusive with the artist and
is in an interview format. This will be
interesting to the reader because it is not as
difficult and boring to read as an article based
on the reader.
The introduction of the article is good
because the reader can decide whether they
want to read on if they are interested by what
is being said.
The drop down also brings attention to the
introduction because it is big and bold.
8. Double page: Pictures
The pictures used on my double page spread
are interesting and will draw attention. The
coloured photo fills up the entire page and is
dressed like a person my target audience. The
black and white ones frame the bottom of the
page making it look interesting because the
texts wrap around them.
9. Double page: Masthead
The masthead is interesting to the reader
because there are two different fonts and
sizes used in it. The first letters of the twp
words are in a larger more comical looking
than the smaller letters which are written in a
more original font and a smaller size.
