1. Mobile Bynet 2 Conference December 5th 2008
Presentation at Minsk University of Art and Crafts
Firstly, I would like to express my gratitude to Artëm Gerasimovich and Vera Reshetina, who
offered the possibility to come and talk in front of this auditorium.
My name is Roman Pixell, i’m based in Stockholm Sweden, and I work with concept development
for the mobile internet. I’m here today to represent Telenor and Excitera Mobile Cup 2009 at the
Bynet 2 Conference. We applaud this brilliant initiative and hope that you will benefit from our
sponsorship in multiple ways.
For us, the Cup is a kick start of a crusade into the domain of entrepreneurship within mobile
software and services. We don’t want you to end up like employees. We want you to become self-
employed. Real enthusiasm comes from people like you who invest their time, blood, sweat and
tears into what you believe in.
As entrepreneurs, you will move much faster than the industry behemoths. Yes, you will have less
capital to implement your ideas, but you will surely innovate to a much higher degree with every
spent penny. Innovation doesn’t come from lazy cats. We all know this.
So what’s the challenge all about?
In this global contest, you will rise to the challenge alongside the brightest minds in Sweden,
Norway, USA, India, Ukraine, Poland and many other countries. The Cup is open for students and
alumnis up to five years after graduation. I will not spend much time presenting the Cup in details,
because most of the info is already up at our registration site http://mobilecup.se You don’t need to
wait until you get back to your desktop, the site is also enabled to be viewed from cell phones).
Yet, there is one thing i want to say about mobile innovation:
Innovative services rarely spring up with just just developers. Yes, the Cup is a prototype-oriented
competition, so don’t get me wrong. But bright ideas happen to appear primarily in the intersection
formed by developers, business people and designers. It is therefore very suitable that this
presentation is held at the Minsk University of Art and Crafts, to accentuate this exciting mix.
Your submissions will be judged from different criteria and the prize sums are quite impressive. So
don’t loose any time, team up with your friends and join the Cup. Registration is open, and once
you’re registered, you will also have the chance to win a brand spanking new Nokia N96, since
Nokia is one of the many partners of the Cup.
Personally i have a lot of expectations from Belorussian developers, marketers and artists in what
regards innovative code, business ideas and interaction design, and I look forward to your
participation in the Cup. May the best team win! Thank you for listening to my presentation.
If you have any questions or ideas that you want to share, please send me a text message or
contact me via e-mail. I will also be in Minsk during Tuesday and Wednesday morning.
