I love New York
• New York's capital state is Albany
• New York was made a state July 26, 1788
it was the 11th of the original 13 colonies
• New York's state bird is the Blue Bird
• New York's state tree is the sugar maple
• New York has a song written after it called I LOVE NEW
YORK it was written and composed by Steve Karmen

3. Oregon
Things Look Different Here
• Capital City: Salem
• Was made a state in Feb. 14, 1859
• Oregon's state flag has different pictures on both side one
side has a heart shaped shield with an eagle on top,
surrounded by thirty-three stars. ( 33 star because that’s how
many states where the united states in 1859) and the other
side of the flag has a beaver.
• The state flower is the Oregon Grape
• Oregon's nickname was “Beaver State”

4. Alabama
Unforgettable
• Capital City: Montgomery
• The state bird is the Yellowhammer
• The state flower is the Camellia
• The population is 4,447,100
• Alabama has a song written after it called

5. Hawaii
The island of Aloha
• It became a state on August 21, 1959
• The capital city is Honolulu
• The states bird is the Nene
• The state flower is the Hibiscus or Pua Aloalo
• The nickname for the state is the Aloha State

6. Nevada

• The capital city of Nevada is Carson City
• Nevada became a state on October 31, 1864
• The state flower is a Sagebrush
• Nevada’s nickname is The silver state
• Nevada has a song written after it called Home

7. Wisconsin
Stay just a little bit longer
• The capital city is Madison
• Became an official state on May 29, 1848
• The state bird is the robbin
• Wisconsin's Door County has five state parks and
250 miles of shoreline along Lake Michigan.
These figures represent more than any other
county in the country.
• In 1900 land acquisition for Wisconsin's first state
park began. The park became Interstate State
Park located in St. Croix Falls.

• The state bird is the Eastern Goldfinch
• The state flower is the Violet
• Its nickname is Garden State
• The state tree is the Northern Red Oak

• The state flower is the Whitepine cone and
