First I am going to introduce each explorer and their corresponding country. The first two days of the Unit Plan will be dedicated to Exploration. During these two day students will be assigned group projects and have worksheets that pertain to each explorer and their contribution to exploration.
3. Colonial America Colonial America will be discussed throughout the next 6 days and each colony will be introduced along with family roles, religious practices, and how colonists obtained jobs and collected food. Students will get into podcast groups and create podcasts, they will create their own colonies. The classroom will also be split into three groups and each will be assigned a colony.
4. Students will also be tested on their full knowledge of the Unit Plan by tests, quizzes, the use of SRS (Student Response Systems), and group projects. Students can also receive extra credit by dressing up as a colonist or an explorer of their choice.
