4. 5. Aspen / Snowmass – This is a massive ski
resort, and in most locations, would be considered
four separate resorts. There are over 5,300 acres
of terrain with Ajax, Aspens Highlands, Buttermilk,
and Snowmass. With over 329 runs and the
longest at 5 miles long, 10% of runs are for
beginners, 45% are intermediate, 29% are
advanced, and 16% are expert runs.
6. 4. Telluride – Telluride has some of the steepest
trails in Colorado. With over 2,000 acres of terrain,
Telluride is located more than 100 miles from a
stoplight. Telluride is styled like a modern
European style time. There are 23% beginner
runs, 36% intermediate runs, 41% advanced, and
no expert runs.
8. 3. Steamboat – The Steamboat Ski Resort is
located near Steamboat Springs. It happens to be
a a very famous ski destination. It’s not the largest
resort, but with 165 runs, there are plenty of
intermediate and advanced runs for seasoned
skiiers.
10. 2. Crested Butte Mountain Resort – This year round
mountain, offer amazing scenery, lack of crowds,
and a rich history. With 27% beginner runs and
57% intermediate runs, this is a great place for less
advanced skiiers looking to enjoy the 121 runs.
12. 1. Beaver Creek – This luxury ski resort is located
west of vail and near Avon, CO. This town has
amazing restaurants, great lodging, and is family
friendly. The 150 runs have 43% intermediate and
19% beginner.
