Fight against corruption and fraud has turned into a revolution: Arindam Chaudhuri
For Arindam Chaudhuri, Anna Hazare’s protest against fraud and corruption, and the rise of civil society on a gigantic wave of mass support, has turned into a revolution that the world has not seen in the last 60 years. Chaudhuri said even if the government agrees to 50 per cent of what Anna and his team are fighting for, there will be a new India around us in the next two years.
Speaking out to the mass gathering at Ramlila Maidan, Chaudhuri was emotional when he said that this movement has awakened the revolutionary in him. Shedding his corporate avatar, Chaudhuri started his speech with the clarion cry of a revolutionist ‘Inquilab Zindabad’ (long live revolution). He told the huge multitude gathered at the historic ground that this uprising of the Indian common man has already won them one-third the battle. Not only the elected leaders of the nation, but the entire world has taken note of it.
Arindam Chaudhuri, the economist and management guru, was at Ramlila Maidan on Friday to extend his support and show solidarity to Anna Hazare’s fight against fraud and corruption. Chaudhuri was moved by the huge number of supporters who had been protesting with Anna for the last 11 days for an anti-graft bill to be passed that would bring an end to fraud and corruption in the Indian society.

1. Fight against corruption and fraud has turned into a
revolution: Arindam Chaudhuri

Does Arindam Chaudhuri help or hinder Anna’s cause?
The nation is not divided on the need to tackle fraud and corruption. Every right thinking
Indian supports the principle fuelling Anna Hazare’s movement – but there is a division when it
comes to his methods.
We all look for cues to aid us in forming our own opinions on his strategy. We read and hear of
those who support his movement and method without qualification, those who support with some
reservations, those who reject his method.
2. The personalities who do any of the above matter. Those who offer Anna unqualified support
would take heart when they see, for example, an announcement by superstar Rajinikanth saying
he supports Anna and his cause.
When a personality like Rajinikanth makes his support clear and equivocal, it aids all Rajini’s
fans in their decision on whether or not to take a position in support of Anna Hazare.
As more and more celebrities make their support known, Anna Hazare’s movement gets a fillip.
“It is therefore with great hope and all humility that I request you to pay heed to the voice of Mr
Anna Hazare. I would like to submit to you that the nation is slowly but surely collecting behind
Mr Hazare in appreciation for what he is fighting for. I am merely one of many who support Mr
Hazare and have come to appreciate that this upright 72-year-old man is willing to sacrifice his
life in the fight against fraud and corruption,” says actor Aamir Khan in a letter to the Prime
Minister.
Arindam Chaudhuri Taking A Strong Stand Against Corruption &
Corporate-politico Nexus In India
A seventy-three year old unassuming man by the name of Kisan Bapat Baburao Hazare is again set out to
give sleepless nights to the Government of India. More popularly known as Anna Hazare, this isn’t his
first endeavour to take the establishment head on. He earned his due recognition when he tirelessly
fought to develop a model village in the district of Ahmednagar in Maharashtra. As it happens to most in
our country, for all the good work, Dr. Hazare was also arrested in 1998 and was released on account of
a huge public uproar. Incidentally, the Government of India also recognized his efforts by bestowing him
with the Padma Bhushan. But amongst all his mini revolutions which have advantaged the smaller
sections of society, this time Hazare is taking up such an issue which is probably the biggest malaise of
our democracy and is a cause which affects every living Indian in some way or the other.
