Two girls who were initially just acquaintances became close friends after their freshman year of college. They bonded over dealing with guy drama and arguments. Over the next year, they grew very close and referred to each other as "Ash & Tay". However, as their senior year progressed and they pursued their own lives and relationships, their friendship began to fade away until they were merely acquaintances again by the end.
The evolution and fading of a high school friendship
1. It started off simple…. Just two girls Acquaintances A new Freshman And a semi-known Sophomore. Similar personalities The same “I don’t care” attitude
2. It took only few classes MAJOR/STUPID Guy drama over a man whore And of course the first argument To realize… That this acquaintance was much more
3. It was A few laughs… Some still awkward sleepovers And one very fun Halloween to remember We weren’t best friends….. Just yet
4. It then took two weeks into school As well as two idiots To bring us to our closest point Four of us against the world It was the drive home from Clayton The fart during dinner The ditch practice for tubing day Skinning dipping in the Fall And the lunch together EVERYDAY… Which made our year fly by
5. & Although heartbreak occurred & was sadly unnoticed Laughter was there Memories were there Chama Days was there along with two “friends” & Suddenly the “acquaintance” evolved into “ ASH & TAY”
6. It ended differently The final year was so different This year separated us… Not just because of classes But because we finally realized One of us was a step ahead of the other We each had our own lives.
7. And the life, the laughs, the tears The friendship we had together Was slowly fading away As the bonds within our classmates and the love with the guy grew stronger the bond with each other grew weaker the word graduation started to sink in as the word “ASH & TAY” before we knew it was gone.
8. Towards the end not so real smiles were put on Laughs, smiles, and tears were gone… The summer came and there was not one memory There was nothing And suddenly the word AQUAINTANCE Was what was used to described this friendship again
