THE KEY103 MEDIA
BUS
• The Key103 Media Bus is a single
decker bus fully equipped with
recording facilities which enable
students to produce podcasts, radio
commercials and interviews.
• We will be visiting 10 schools
during national apprenticeships
week (morning and afternoon visits
available). Once onboard the Key
103 bus students will gain some
hands on media experience. They
will have a lesson about
apprenticeships and record rich
audio reflecting on the benefits of
being an apprentice.
• Students will be encouraged to be
as creative as possible in their
script writing. Then in teams they
will record their ideas and the
audio.
• This will then be blue toothed to
their Mobile Phones for them to
take away and share with friends
and family.

• Following the media bus days the
12 students who create the best
commercials/ podcasts will be given
the opportunity to visit Key103 for a
radio workshop 9.30am – 2.30pm
seeing behind the scenes of the
Radio Station as well as using our
professional equipment.
• The aim of the day will be to create
a broadcast version of the
commercial they devised on the
media bus.
• We will also show the students to
put together a show reel focusing
on Apprenticeships.
