THE EDUCATION DEPARTMENT AIMS TO:

          • Attract the widest possible audience to the
            Wallace Collection and to proactively seek to
            develop new audiences, especially those
            unaccustomed to visiting galleries

          • Provide all visitor s to the museum with the tools
            to develop a greater under standing and
            enjoyment of the Collection based

          • Of fer visitor s a variety of ways of engaging with
            works of ar t thereby suppor ting dif ferent ways of
            learning and levels of interest.

          • Disseminate reliable ar t historical and historical
            knowledge, creating an experience that our
            visitor s find enjoyable and enriches their lives

          • Of fer high-quality programmes which reflect the
            unique character, diver sity and quality of the
            Collection
THE ROLE OF THE EDUCATION DEPARTMENT
 Interprets the collections for the public

 Advisory role for all forms of interpretation including
  labels, gallery information sheets, audioguide text
  and exhibition panels

 Creates and manages the delivery of informal and
  formal learning programmes based upon the
  collections for target audiences

 Curates exhibitions
SCHOOL’S PROGRAMME
          S e s s i o n s a r e t a i l o r e d to t h e n e e d s o f t h e
           p a r t i c ula r a g e - g r o up a n d l e d b y a t r a i n e d
           a r t i s t o r e d u c a to r a p p r o p r ia te to t h e
           task.

          All sessions are free of charge. Pupils
           engage with works of art in the galleries
           a n d t a ke p a r t i n a r a n g e o f
           a c t i v i t ie s , w h i c h c a n i n c l ud e
           l o o ki n g , h a n d l i n g , d r aw i n g , d i s c us s i on
           and making.

THE EDUCATION DEPARTMENT AIMS TO: • Attract the widest possible audience to the Wallace Collection and to proactively seek to develop new audiences, especially those unaccustomed to visiting galleries • Provide all visitor s to the museum with the tools to develop a greater under standing and enjoyment of the Collection based • Of fer visitor s a variety of ways of engaging with works of ar t thereby suppor ting dif ferent ways of learning and levels of interest. • Disseminate reliable ar t historical and historical knowledge, creating an experience that our visitor s find enjoyable and enriches their lives • Of fer high-quality programmes which reflect the unique character, diver sity and quality of the Collection

THE ROLE OF THE EDUCATION DEPARTMENT  Interprets the collections for the public  Advisory role for all forms of interpretation including labels, gallery information sheets, audioguide text and exhibition panels  Creates and manages the delivery of informal and formal learning programmes based upon the collections for target audiences  Curates exhibitions

SCHOOL’S PROGRAMME  S e s s i o n s a r e t a i l o r e d to t h e n e e d s o f t h e p a r t i c ula r a g e - g r o up a n d l e d b y a t r a i n e d a r t i s t o r e d u c a to r a p p r o p r ia te to t h e task.  All sessions are free of charge. Pupils engage with works of art in the galleries a n d t a ke p a r t i n a r a n g e o f a c t i v i t ie s , w h i c h c a n i n c l ud e l o o ki n g , h a n d l i n g , d r aw i n g , d i s c us s i on and making.  Some sessions require outreach at school  S e l f - d i r e c te d d r aw i n g g r o u p s , e s p e c i al l y s i x t h f o r m g r o u p s , a r e w e l c o m e to u s e t h e m u s e um f o r r e s e a r c h a n d p r i v a te d r aw i n g .  We a l s o o f f e r a r a n g e o f f r e e e L e a r n i n g r e s o u rc e s f o r te a c h e r s to u s e w i t h t h e i r class, as well as lively practical InSET courses.
