INTRODUCTION

Music of Nepal refers to the various musical genres of
Nepal. With more than fifty ethnicities, the music of this
country is a highly dispersed phenomenon. Although genres
like pop, rock, folk, and Classical music exist, a huge number
of such genres are yet to be cataloged. Many musical bands
exist in Nepal, with a huge number in Kathmandu - most of
the recent ones focused in pop and rock. Rap has been
known to emerge on the charts from time to time. Also
bands have revolunished the music of Nepal.

CONCLUSION

Music of Nepal has changed since years. In ancient age it
was just limited to Lok Dohori(FOLK MUSIC). But it
has now reached hip-hop and pop. We living in the
urbanized area of Nepal feel like folk music and old
generas of Nepali music has lost. But we forget that
more than 60 % of Nepal's land is suburbanized. And in
those places people don’t prefer music which we listen.
Also contribution of people belonging from lower caste
is more towards music. We can see the impact of western
music too in Nepali music.

  • 25. CONCLUSION Music of Nepal has changed since years. In ancient age it was just limited to Lok Dohori(FOLK MUSIC). But it has now reached hip-hop and pop. We living in the urbanized area of Nepal feel like folk music and old generas of Nepali music has lost. But we forget that more than 60 % of Nepal's land is suburbanized. And in those places people don’t prefer music which we listen. Also contribution of people belonging from lower caste is more towards music. We can see the impact of western music too in Nepali music.
