2. Physical Description
Height: Most adult lynx are 30 to
42 in. long.
Weight: Most adult lynx weigh
from 18 to 30 pounds. Male lynx
are usually bigger then females and
weigh 40 pounds or more.
Color: Beige with spots of gray and
black.
Distinguishing Characteristics:
Lynx have long tuffs on their ears
that serve as sensitive antennae,
enhancing hearing.
Breeding: Mating happens in
march and early April, their kittens
are born 63 days after under a
natural shelter. The kittens eyes
open 1 month after their born.
4. Food
Lynx's primarily food is
snowshoe hares. It also eats
red squirrel, and other small
animals and birds, such as
grouse. On average, a lynx
eats every other night,
eating 150-200 hares a year.
8. Interesting facts about Lynx
There are four species of lynx: the Spanish
lynx, Canadian lynx, Eurasian lynx and the
bobcat. A lynx is typically 32 to 40 in. long
with and additional 4 to 8 in. for the tail.
They weigh 22 to 44 pounds.
Their fur rages from golden brown to an
kinda white color and some have dark
colored spots all over their bodies. These
animals hunt just like any other cat, by
using a stalk and jump method to catch
rabbits, rodents, mice and other prey.
