This Merlot vineyard was originally planted by Robert Mondavi. The current owners of the vineyard, who are also the owners of Ancient Peaks, are longtime California wine growers. This 2006 Merlot red wine reflects the exquisite terroir of the vineyard, which is defined by complex, fossil-rich soils and marine air that creates one of the coolest growing locations in the Paso Robles wine country. This fine wine boasts soft, velvety black fruit flavors, and was given a Merlot rating of 88 points by the Wine Spectator. This vintage is a blended wine that includes Malbec (5%).
