Skinheads originated in the 1960s among working class youth in the UK, taking influence from rude boys and mods in terms of fashion, music, and lifestyle. Originally it was not a political or racially aligned subculture. Skinheads are identified by their close-cropped or shaven hair and specific clothing styles including boots, button-up or polo shirts, jeans or slacks worn short to show off boots, and sometimes tattoos related to skinhead culture.
