1. We have chosen Requiem For A Dream as our inspiration towards
our re-make of Ecstasy due to this film having one same theme as
our own. This film successfully shows drug taking and the side
effects of using drugs in a way which we do not class as tacky, which
is how I would describe our way of showing drug use in our first
version of Ecstasy. Successfully trying to show drug use without
making it really tacky and obvious to create more suspense was
hard, however remembering the film Requiem For A Dream and the
way the director shows drug use is such a snapshot way with
different sound effects and lighting than the original film makes the
drug use seem completely different to usual day life, which is what
we wanted to achieve. Being inspired by Requiem For A Dream
really gave us a chance to work in styles of different directors and
widened our shots we made and how they were completed.
This film had relevance to what we wanted to display in our film
as we needed to show the negative effect of drugs, however in a
more Horror like way, which is like the theme of Requiem For A
Dream as the reason behind that film is the negative effects of drug
addiction, like our own theme.
