How Small Business Can Make A Big Impact On Vine
If you had six seconds to sell your business, what would you do?
Vine, the popular mobile app by Twitter, lets users record six seconds of video
and share it to a social stream online (just like Twitter). Most of these videos
are pets and kids playing with their new iPhones, but businesses are creating
new ways to sell their brand online using these “micro-videos.”
Vine for business isn’t just a Fortune 500 game. Local companies can take
what’s been done by the big boys and imitate their methods to target a more
specified audience.
Show How It’s Done
Lowe’s was an early adopter for advertising on Vine when the network
launched in early 2013. It’s signature series, “#lowesfixinsix,” gives quick tips
on handy work around the house. The idea isn’t trademarked, so if you run a
local hardware store this is definitely something you should do. But even if
your business is anything from a coffee shop to a local bicycle store, quick tips
like how to brew a cup of coffee or fix a broken bike chain will help earn a
following online that eventually translates into new customers.
Show Off Special Events
Since networks like MTV and VH1 don’t show music on their channels
anymore, they use Vine to promote special events like this clip from
Lollapalooza in Chicago. Companies across all verticals usesocial media to
both announce and broadcast events online. One look at search

instantly transporting to the outdoors. If you work retail, service, or virtually

thinking.
