What is Marketing?
Marketing is referred to as performance of
business activities that direct the flow of
goods and services from producers to
consumers
To move the goods from producers to consumers a
number of activities, such as product designing,
packaging, transportation, distribution, etc…. are
required. All these marketing functions are referred to as
MARKETING ACTIVITIES. Performing these activities are
called MARKETING

NEEDS AND WANTS:
The process of marketing helps individuals and
groups in obtaining what they need and what they
want.
CREATING A MARKET
OFFERING
CUSTOMER VALUE:
Job of a marketer
is to add the value
of the product so
that customers
prefer it in relation
to the other
competing
products and
decide to
purchase it.
EXCHANGE MECHANISM:
Exchange refers to the
process through which two or
more parties come to obtain
the desired product or
services from someone
offering the same by giving
something in return.
Exchange is referred as
essence of marketing.
Anything that is of ‘value’ to other can be
marketed.
WHO IS A MARKETER?
Marketer is any person who takes more
active part in the process of exchange.
Normally seller who is more active in the
exchange process is called as marketer.
But in certain situation buyer becomes the
marketer. Such as situations of rare supply.
