Moodle: Modular Object-Oriented
Dynamic Learning Environment is a
free and open-source e-learning
software platform, also known as a
Course      Management       System,
Learning Management System, or
Virtual Learning Environment
Second Life (SL) is a virtual world.
A free client program called the
Second Life Viewer enables its users,
called Residents, to interact with
each other through avatars.
Sloodle is an open source experiment
that maps the Moodle structure to
Second Life activities so course
designers may experiment with
effective and engaging 3D immersion
for learning.
Why we use SLOODLE?
Gaming has sprung a leak. The
social web and immersive
game technology are fusing.
Features
•Scaffold learning, assessment
•Web 2.0 tools framework
•Compatible open community
partners
•Rigorous structure, Rabid
Engagement
Advantages & limitation
Time flexibility:
You could access to sloodle in your own pace of
time to view lessons and recorded meetings.
Habits:
The habit you will experience is virtual
environment but with the integration of Moodle
features.
Feedback:
You can either receive feedback from your
instructor, friends, support staff immedietly in
the virtual world or receive help through e-mail
and other normal channels.
Advantages & limitation
Reinforcement:
The enforcement is, also, could be gained
through virtual environment or via e-mail
and other usual channels.
Interactivity:
Sloodle provides the highest level of
interaction between learners, instructors
and other parts of the community in the
virtual environment.
Advantages & limitation
Complexity:
The complexity fall in the area of
installing and setting up the software and
its other components but after the
program is settled by time the job will be
easy and very helpful and effective for
providing a professional learning
environment.
Control:
The control over the content and the provided
materials is easy because it is similar to the video
games environment.

•   Identity exploration

• Like other learning technologies,
  it is ultimately up to tutors and
  students to decide how tools
  should be used in class.

• There are many possibilities to
   do that:
1- Web-intercom. A chat-room that
  brings Moodle chatroom and Second
  Life chats together.
2- Registration booth. Identity
  management for Second Life and
  Moodle. Link students’ avatars

3- Quiz tool and 3D Drop Box. Assess in
   Second Life – grade in Moodle.

4- Choice tool. Allow students to vote
   (and see results) in Second Life as
   well as in Moodle. And more tools
