CBSE, a Board of Education for public and private schools, under the Union Government of
India, focuses on Science subjects and Mathematics whereas CISCE (Council for the Indian
School Certificate Examinations), a private, non-governmental board of school education,
(in ICSE and ISC) emphasizes on each subject especially English.
Of the varied options available in the country, CBSE has become the preferred choice of
many, and the latest trend unveils that if you hail from the CBSE board your chances of
clearing JEE are higher than a student who belongs to any other Board. This does not mean
that a CBSE student will find his way to the top of the merit list, it simply means that the
the CBSE student may only get a head start while preparing for competitive exams, in
particular – JEE(engineering) and AIPMT(pre-medical).
