Even though this article talks about traumatic eye injuries instead of traumatic brain injuries, it shows how a wide variety of injuries are obtained from war. This video took up most of my “future” section in my presentation. It is a very informative video about certain doctor who thought of one experiment he thinks could be the cure to any TBI. It also shows how much some people are against this experiment. One scientist claims that the only way to heal a TBI is to use pure oxygen.

This article talks a great deal about the Pentagon and the VA. I believe this is very biased and I used limited information from this page in my presentation. It claims that the VA doesn’t seem to care for the injured and dying people in the war. This article also says that the Pentagon has been slow to react to these issues and no one is sure why. I know that Brad (my expert) has been of great help but he didn’t describe to me the health care of the war. He was injured and only mentioned that the health care he received was “good”. However, know I have a better grasp on his life in Iraq and have a little taste of what these soldiers had to go through. This article goes into further detail about the heath care in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Los Angeles Times had one woman veteran interviewed to describe her thoughts on the health care issues. She claimed she grew worse and worse as she was waiting for care. Her anxiety increased along with her panic attacks and suffering. This article talked mostly about the reasons the VA and Pentagon weren’t involved in the heath care as much as they should be. It discussed the costs of a typical TBI per year. A minor one is thousands of dollars, but a more major one would be more than 100 times that in just one year. This information is accurate and unbelievable.
