2. APPLICATION OF COMPUTER IN ENTERTAINMENT SECTORS

3. DISADVANTAGES
INTRODUCTION
 Computer have now become an integral part of the
    entertainment industry.
 Computers have become so deeply embedded
information processing and communication systems that
almost no activity could be possible without them.
 Used to create dazzling special effects in
movies, editing movies, creating movies, using
    animated cartoon characters,
 Help in composing, editing, recording and reproducing
    music and sound effects.
 All our traditional entertainment utilities like music
,movies, sports, games, etc. are now affected by IT, one
can have all this services, sitting at home and enjoying
    themselves.
ENTERTAINMENT

 Entertainment is something that holds the
attention and interest of an audience, or
    gives pleasure and delight.
 It can be an idea or task, but is more
likely to be one of the activities or events
that have developed over thousands of
years specially for the purpose of keeping
    an audience’s attention.
APPLICATIONS OF
ENTERTAINMENT

 MOVIES AND ANIMATIONS
 MUSIC
 ADVERTISEMENT
 GAMES
 ART
 SPORTS
 SOCIAL NETWORKS
MOVIES AND ANIMATIONS
 It include animated Movies, special effects, etc.
 With the aid of sophisticated graphics and animation
packages the special effects technicians can create the
illusion of a locomotive flying through the air or a robot
transforming into a human being and so on.
 Computers can create outer space, alien
characters, extinct animals, etc. without the need of
    creating their physical models.
 Improving productivity by automating time
    consuming, repetitive and monotonous process.
 Movies now contains many virtual tricks, and treats that
could never be accomplished without the aid of
    computers.
 Example is JURASSIC PARK,TITANIC,etc.
MUSIC
 The use of technology in the world of music is an
    unavoidable fact.
 Any musical composition that we hear goes through a
    technological process at some point.
 Problems with interfacing electronic musical
    instruments manufactured by different companies.
 Patch librarian program-small amount of memory which
    can remember some music
 Sequencer – memories anything you play and plays it
    back on command.
 Based on pure mathematical methods involving
    recursion, iteration and complex mathematics.
 Advertisement has been one of key
factors of growth and success in business.
 Multimedia in advertising and promoting
products, utilization of internet are the
ways to use computers in advertising.
GAMES

Computer games are a quickly growing market just like
all other forms of video games. However, computer
games offer a very wide array of possibilities. Computers
have access to many peripheral devices such as
keyboards, mouses, joysticks, controllers and more.
Computer games also are highly customizable because
computers can manipulate game files. Examples of this
would be creating new levels, characters or graphic files
for specific games. In fact, computers are absolutely
necessary for programming any sort of new video game.
Art
 Art is something that is readily available online at
any moment. Pictures, paintings, poetry and more
are just a click away. Popular browsers offer
specific image search options to quickly browse
through art with a single keyword. Besides general
use, computer photo editing programs and
animation programs are also the sources behind
    most movies and professional photographs.
 Capable of transforming art from visual
experience to full emotional interaction with the
    work.
SPORTS

 Computers are used in sports to analyze
the movements of sportspersons and to find
faults in the movements and optimize them
so that maximum efficiency is achieved.
 Computers are used by sports professionals
to analyze their techniques and to find
    their strengths and weaknesses.
DISADVANTAGES
 Entertainment files of movies, music, video
and games all take up significant amounts of
space on a computer hard drive. While many
users find their available space shrinking
    rapidly when building a computerized
    entertainment database for personal use.
 Speed, Processing and Performance: While
most computers can easily run music files
    because they are basically sound
files, entertainment files that combine video
    and sound require incredibly powerful
    computer processors. A smooth, highly-
detailed display is not possible unless the
computer is equipped with a very advanced
video card, has at least 2 gigabytes of
temporary memory, and has enough hard drive
space to store the given file to be played.
COTD.
 Computer Games: A long-standing problem
    with computer entertainment games tends
to be that their suggested specifications
never seem to match each and every
computer. As a result, many a user has to
make additional tweaks to his computer to
get it to play a computer game as intended.
    This may involve adjusting frame
rate, changing out the video card, reducing
game detail to perform better, and other
    similar changes.
COTD
 Downloading Issues: To be able to enjoy new
options of entertainment reasonably well, you'll
need an Internet connection with broadband
capability. Given the size of entertainment
files, smaller or weaker Internet accounts are
simply too slow to download and watch at the
same time. A broadband account costs money and
those who want to download lots of files will have
to pay a premium for an upgraded account or they
will quickly exceed their monthly download quota.
COTD.
 Downloading More Than Entertainment: Opening
up a computer to significant entertainment use
also opens you to a higher risk of getting a
program virus, malware, undesired adware .
Much of the risk comes from the source of the
entertainment files not maintaining clean data.
Unless users proactively make sure that whom
they get entertainment files from over the
Internet protects such files, they are at high risk
of getting an unwelcome surprise in their
computer when downloading a movie, game or
music. This risk increases significantly when
users choose to download from pirate sites or
    "free" providers.
THANK YOU
