Founded in 1907, the Montreal Children’s Hospital is Canada’s oldest pediatric health care facility and one of Canada’s finest pediatric institutions. The hospital’s goal is to provide the finest health care possible for young people, and throughout the years, it has been at the forefront of pediatric care. In addition to being the first pediatric facility in Quebec, the Montreal Children’s Hospital was also the first hospital in Canada to have a children’s speech therapist or to open a psychiatric unit for children. The hospital also led the country by being the first to implant an artificial heart into an infant. In order to continue its legacy of innovation into the 21st century, the Montreal Children’s Hospital relies strongly on the contribution of private supporters.
