The degree of Doctor of Business Administration DBA (equivalent to PhD in Business
Administration), is a research doctorate in business administration. The D.B.A. requires
coursework and research beyond the master degree that normally results in a dissertation and
possible journal publication that contributes to business practice.
While Doctor of Philosophy PhD is a research based work in any field including business,
management, leadership, strategy, healthcare, public health, health economics, media and
education.
If you have more than 8 years of experience, and a bachelor degree from an accredited
university and you plan to pursue a PhD or DBA degree: you can apply to a joint program
and start with executive MBA for 9 months and continue either a DBA coursework and
research for another 2 years or a PhD research
