SLN – Budget/Staffing
• Probable 10.4% budget decrease
• We believe we can weather this for two years without
  significantly impacting services
• Currently searching for:
   ◆   Education Team – 1 Senior Instructional Designer. That will still leave
       us one down from 2009 levels.
   ◆   Applications Team – 1 Programmer Analyst.
SLN – Service Level Agreements
• Agreements for July 2010 to June 2012
   ◆   Applications and Hosting
        - Options A-C
   ◆   Enduser Helpdesk
   ◆   Marketing
        - SUNY-wide (open to all at no charge)
        - Standard
        - Premium
   ◆   Education
        - SUNY-wide (open to all at no charge)
        - Campus Online/Distance Learning Services (targeting IDs)
        - Online Faculty Services (targeting faculty)
SLN – Services Site
• Primary utility for:
   ◆   SLN produced documentation and procedures
   ◆   Research publications (e.g. Eduventures)
   ◆   Calendar of Activities
   ◆   Helpdesk knowledgebase
SLN – Hosting Services
• We saw significant growth from fall 2009 to spring 2010
   ◆   Fall 6619 concurrent connections
   ◆   Spring 7962 concurrent connections
• The environment currently consists of
   ◆   101 webnodes
   ◆   4 file servers
   ◆   4 database servers
• BC/DR is scheduled to be in place by July 1, 2010
SLN – BB Services Engagement
•   Campus site visits have taken place
•   Draft of online survey has been completed
•   Benchmarking testing is underway
•   Knowledge transfer to replicate the tests is scheduled.
