•   Led a rigorous, RFP-style application to the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP)
    that resulted in advancing the firm in one year from fifth-ranked to the No. 1 World’s Best Outsourcing
    Advisor for 2010.

•   Led firm’s global thought leadership program, including heavy editing, brand compliance and production of
    white papers, case studies, research reports, bylined articles and more. Personally pitched and placed three
    colleagues on high-profile IAOP Research Guidance Council and Corp. Social Responsibility committees.

•   Have sourced, onboarded, developed and continue to manage seven independent contractors (100 percent
    retention rate). Provided heavy integration support to the marketing staff of two acquired companies and
    have worked effectively, long-term with an India-based service provider.

•   Project managed successful 1.5-year corporate re-branding initiative, including managing day-to-day
    relations with global design and public relations firms, preparing to re-launch Web site and re-branding all
    existing collateral, writing Web copy, coordinating consensus building for re-branding tactics, milestone

    guidelines.

•   Produce market-facing communications for business development and events. Experienced in
    Salesforce.com, Marketo and Vertical Response lead management applications, Dreamweaver (HTML),

Knoxville Tourism & Sports Corporation

Led six-person team in providing end-to-end marketing communications for the official convention and visitors’
bureau of Knoxville and Knox County, Tennessee. Responsible for fulfilling support requirements of the
convention sales department, executive staff, convention clientele and selected city/county events including
advertising, public relations, internal communications, VIP and board relations, special event communications,
and marketing.

•   Wrote all advertising copy, advertorial content, public correspondence and most marketing collateral
•   Managing editor of the Official 2006 Knoxville Visitor Guide, of which 325,000 copies were printed

Co-developed customized brand image compliance style guide used by team of 65 marketing communications
specialists • Wrote copy for “IntraActive News” intranet-based newsletter targeted to inside and outside
salesforces • Conceived title, edited and project managed electronic and print versions of “In Touch” co-branded
technical newsletter produced in partnership with GartnerGroup • Prepared quarterly updates and other
executive communications for division vice president/general manager and group vice president • Completed

for Siemens Communication Devices, including extensive national trade and consumer media relations,
managing Gigaset product review program, writing Web content, developing HomeRF technology materials, pre-
briefing product managers for media interviews, trade show preparations and writing all press releases. Also
consulted with Ackermann’s Siemens account team on the client's ongoing promotional and strategic issues,
messaging, market positioning, and tactical execution. Conceived and oversaw production of a creative holiday
product photo placed in national media.

U.S. Internet (now Earthlink)
Directed media relations and special projects for super-regional Internet service provider with points of presence
throughout Tennessee and in Blacksburg, VA. Experience includes marketing message development, brochure
copywriting, scripting a :60 television spot, facility tours for media, writing and producing Web-based online
newsletter, acquired client communications, writing and designing direct marketing pieces, yellow page
advertising, print advertising placements, customer relations and public speaking. Placed company executives
on all four local evening TV newscasts before the Kenneth Starr report on President Bill Clinton hit the Internet.
Cultivated on-demand access to local news crews when Internet-related news broke.

BellSouth Telecommunications, Inc.
Ghost wrote press releases and fact sheet targeted to local and trade media about complex, multimillion dollar
data communications networks sold to Covenant Health and Nova Information Systems.

Radio Systems Corporation
Wrote white paper to educate veterinarians on the evolution, proper use, psychological effects and benefits of
electronic training devices for canine behavioral modification. In addition to having been distributed domestically,
the piece was used to support Radio Systems’ efforts to lobby Parliament to allow the use of humane, safe
electronic training devices in the United Kingdom.

Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Center
Researched, wrote all copy and recommended visual content and artifacts for 50-foot-long, ceiling-high timelines
chronicling the life of Oscar-winning local actress Patricia Neal and the history of the rehabilitation center
bearing her name. The timelines are installed in the facility for public viewing.

The Michael Group
Wrote company positioning brochure, case studies, complex service brochures and press releases. Also
recommended layout and brand image standards for these pieces. Assisted company executives with defining
and refining company positioning and messaging.

Knoxville Convention Center
Wrote five feature stories and had nine photographs published in the Knoxville News Sentinel’s “Celebrate at the
Center” special publication marking the grand opening of the convention center.

exceeding sales quota 1990 through 1995. Organized and hosted data communications seminar in 1991 that
became the model for other marketing departments in the region. Provided team leadership on implementation
projects and ensured customer satisfaction. Coordinated highly motivational departmental giving event for

Eastern Computer Stores, Inc.
Account Executive
April 1988 — July 1989

Worked in outside sales and retail department of one of the nation's first and oldest Apple dealerships. Educated
customers on benefits of information technology and became proficient with leading business and trade-specific
