In Afghanistan
⢠a whole school improvementâ model implemented in
almost 200 government primary schools, benefiting over
98,000 students and 3,700 teachers. AKFC will contribute
$1 million and CIDA will provide $8 million.
⢠over 200 communityâbased classes for 7,300 students in
remote communities; and over 100 constructed or
rehabilitated schools
⢠enhance their livelihoods and find alternatives to the
cultivation of poppy. Successes include contributing to a
58% decrease in food insecurity and over 1,000 rural
communities benefiting from diversified agricultural
production and an increase in farm incomes

In Northern Pakistan

development of their communities.
